“Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry… Form and Function in Harmony”

Frank Lloyd Wright said, “Forms follows function…” but what few people know is the complete quote continues to say “but they should be married in a spiritual unity.” As cosmetic dentistry continues to become a more significant part of a dentist’s practice restorative considerations including materials selection and functionality increase in importance. While every patient is unique and likewise is every treatment plan there are still certain fundamentals and considerations that every dentist must be aware of to ensure that patient care is both beautiful and long lasting.

The Form and Function in Harmony program presents a systematic methodology for the diagnosis and treatment planning cosmetic and restorative cases. The program is multi-media presentation including Power Point, videos, group exercises and hands on techniques. The goal is to give the dentist tools that they can use in the office Monday morning.

The first half of the program considers what factors lead to the current occlusal conditions (decay, clenching/grinding, inter-capsular join issues) through examination of clinical studies, structural anatomy dissections, imaging (x-ray, MRI) and the forces and physics in the oral cavity. The second half of the program applies the former concepts to diagnosis and treatment planning of carefully documented sample cases.
